Riqui Puig's adventure in Barcelona has come to an end. The midfielder, who was not getting many minutes with the arrival of Xavi Hernández to the dugout, will finally take his career to a league that he does not cease to surprise with the stellar reinforcements that he has had in the market: the MLS. The Los Angeles Galaxy reached an agreement in principle with FC Barcelona and only a few details remain to be agreed for Puig to land in the United States.

Riqui Puig was seen as a top prospect when he first burst into the first team, but struggled to carry on that momentum

As reported by Spanish newspaper AS, the Los Angeles Galaxy and Riqui Puig would have reached an agreement.  Barcelona would let the player go free, but would keep a buyback option for the future, as well as a percentage of any re-sell value.

Riqui Puig was called to become the next big star for FC Barcelona, but his performances were far from was expected when he first burst into the first team. It's the story of yet another top La Masia prospect crushed under the pressure of the "New Messi" label.

With the arrival of Xavi Hernández, there was talk that the midfielder would have an ideal "teacher" and would manage to find his best form in Barcelona again, but in the end Puig did not convince the coach, and he will continue his career in the MLS. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Spaniard is set sign a three year deal with the American team.

Los Angeles Galaxy are now set to close down a stellar reinforcement with the Barcelona man. This is set to open up a great rivalry with the side across the street, with Los Angeles FC having closed down Gareth Bale and Giorgio Chiellini. Thus, Riqui Puig leaves Barcelona having taken part in 56 matches for the first team, scoring two goals and providing three assists.
