Riqui Puig was called to become the next big star for FC Barcelona, but his performances were far from was expected when he first burst into the first team. It's the story of yet another top La Masia prospect crushed under the pressure of the "New Messi" label.

With the arrival of Xavi Hernández, there was talk that the midfielder would have an ideal "teacher" and would manage to find his best form in Barcelona again, but in the end Puig did not convince the coach, and he will continue his career in the MLS. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Spaniard is set sign a three year deal with the American team.
