Many were hopeful when Argentina star Giovanni Lo Celso completed a permanent move to Tottenham following a successful loan move in 2019-20, costing the Spurs some £29 million. However, things haven't worked out, and following loan spell at Villareal, his future was uncertain.

Now, according to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Lo Celso will return to once again Villarreal on loan. The Argentine midfielder will once more play for Unai Emery, who was able to help the Argentine international regain his best form when he joined the Submarino Amarillo in January after leaving the Premier League club. Last season, Lo Celso was crucial in helping Villarreal go to the Champions League semifinals.

Much along the same lines, journalist Fabrizio Romano claims that the Spanish club and the Argentine have come to an agreement on a new loan arrangement that does not include a buyout clause.

Last season, the former PSG and Real Betis man made 15 LaLiga appearences for Villareal, scoring one goal and providing one assist. The Argentine undoubtedly found himself once again under Emery, as he showed with his words after Villarreal's historic defeat of Bayern Munich at the Champions League quarterfinals.

I feel pride of being part of this team", said Giovanni Lo Celso, who will need another strong showing in the coming months to secure his spot with the Argentina National Team at the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
