Most watchers were terrified when Eriksen collapsed on the ground when playing with the Danish National Team against Finland at the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen. However, despite being told he may not return to professional football, the Dane made a terrific return, signing in late January 2022 for Premier League side Brentford and showing his quality in the more than ten matches he played for the Bees.

Now, he's set for a return to the big time in England, joining one of the biggest sides in the country . "Manchester United is a special club, and I cannot wait to get started. I have had the privilege of playing at Old Trafford many times but to do it in the red shirt of United will be an amazing feeling", declared Eriksen in his presentation with the Red Devils.

He also showed  the Ajax connection is a strong one at Old Trafford, as he's set to link up with Erik ten Hag:  "I have seen Erik's work at Ajax and know the level of detail and preparation that he and his staff put into every day. It is clear that he is a fantastic coach. Having spoken with him and learned more about his vision and the way he wants the team to play, I am even more excited for the future. I still have major ambitions in the game, there is a huge amount that I know I can achieve, and this is the perfect place to continue my journey".

Christian Eriksen will sign a three-year deal, taking his stint at Manchester United until 2025. Initial figures put his wages at between 8 and 9 million euros per season.
