Daniel Levy must be, without a doubt, the worst nightmare of anyone who has to negotiate a deal with Tottenham Hotspur. No matter if he's dealing for a top star or a bench warmer, he always finds himself in a position of power and extracts the most value from every transfer. The name of his latest win? Steven Bergwijn.

The Dutch striker, currently 24 years old, arrived at Tottenham two years ago from his youth club PSV Eindhoven in the Eredivisie in January 2020. He was coming of season where he scored 15 goals and provided 13 assists for PSV, which enticed the English club to pay 30 million euros for him to make him a rotation option for José Mourinho's Spurs.

However, Mourinho came and went and so did Nuno Espirito Santo before Antonio Conte's arrival, and one thing remained, Bergwijn wasn't performing up to standard, as his 8 goals in 81 appearances for Tottenham show.

Which such drop in performance, it would have been normal for the Spurs to sell the player on the low, looking to recoup some money, but knowing full that a loss was inevitable. It's just... Levy doesn't think that way. Apparantely, he's right in doing so, cause according to journalist Fabrizio Romano Tottenham have accepted an offer from Ajax to sign Bergwijn for... 30 million euros!

It's worth poiting out that Steven Bergwijn's track record in the Eredivisie is far more acceptable, with 29 goals and 35 assists in 112 matches, averaging to a goal involvement in every less than two matches. Regardless, the striker will soon sign a five year deal and become a new player of the Dutch giants, recouping Tottenham every single penny they spent on him, minus inflation.
