It has not been an easy first market for Erik ten Hag at the helm of Manchester United. They've missed on some of their key targets, chief among them Frenkie de Jong and even are in risk of losing their own like Cristiano Ronaldo. This week, another star was linked with a potential departure from United, Marcus Rashford, and the Dutch manager has spoken about it.

This week we've seen an increase in talk of Paris Saint Germain's interest the England international, and rumours of a potential bid in the remaining three weeks of the transfer window started to come, as new PSG manager Christophe Galtier admitted he was eager to bring in a new attacker. A move for Rashford has even received support from a number of media members and the public, who believe the struggling striker would thrive from a new environment and challenge.

However, it will all have to wait, as Ten Hag was very quick in dispelling those rumours ahead of the Red Devils' second game of the season against Brentford. "He's really important", the Dutch manager explained. "You have seen from the first day I'm in, I'm really happy with him, I definitely don't want to lose him. He's in our plans and he will stay at Manchester United".

It would also be extremely risky for Manchester United to lose  Rashford during the summer when top scorer Cristiano Ronaldo has been eyeing a transfer away from the team and they haven't been able to sign their top targets.

Should the move go ahead, Rashford would have the chance to join superstars Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, and Neymar in Galtier's squad, but PSG's interest in the forward is thought to be in its early stages and no bid has been made for the forward yet. However, should the Parisians move forward with an opening offer, it would be a significant test of Marcus Rashford's resolve to succeed  at his childhood club.
