"Messi doesn't care about the club": Barça fans furious in social media

The Argentine liked one of the posts by one of his National Team friends and the Blaugranas had none of it

Most Barcelona fans dream of the day that Lionel Messi returns "home", but for now he plays for a different club and they won't forgive him if he goes against them. That much was clear to see when the Argentine star liked the post of one of his National Team teammates.

The Blaugranas are on the verge of losing their Champions League status after their chaotic 3-3 tie with Inter Milan, with Argentina's Lautaro Martinez was one of the goal scorers for the Nerazzuri. With Qatar 2022 just around the corner, Messi was probably just supporting his friend ahead of the big date when he liked Martinez' Instagram post after the match, but that made some Barça fans very angry.

"Another proof that Messi does not feel sorry for Barcelona a club who made him who he is today and then later he broke the club and ran away [sic], he is such a shameless traitor", wrote one of the commenters, while others were not afraid of calling the Argentine a "mercenary" or a "fraud" who "shouldn't come back".

While it stands to reason that these comments come from frustration after the game, but this comes in the context where the rumour that Messi will return to Barcelona during the upcoming summer transfer window is flying. Such was the report by Argentine journalist Veronica Brunati, who has a good contact with Messi's entourage and announced the Argentine's upcoming return on her personal twitter.

There also seems to be an opening for it at the Catalan club, with FC Barcelona vice president Eduard Romeu assuring: "It would be possible financially because if he returned it would be as a free agent. "It's a decision which has to be made by the coaching staff and the player. It doesn't correspond to me [to make those decisions], but it would be viable".
