Koundé OPENS UP about being unregisted to play and his future at Barça

Many times it has been discussed how the FC Barcelona board planed around the economic restrictions placed upon the club by LaLiga as they manouvered and levered their way to registering their new signings for this season, or how the fans felt about the moves the club did. Now, however, we've been given an insight into how if felt for the players in that situation, as the last signing to be registered by Barça, Jules Koundé opened up about the issue.

After missing out on the Blaugrana club's initial fixtures, Koundé spoke on how it was for him during those days. "I took it calmly, with full confidence in the club", explained the 23 year old Frenchman, who completed a 50 million euro move from Sevilla on late July."It was out of my hands", admitted Kounde later on, "I concentrated on training well and recovering sensations. I knew I had to be prepared".

The Frenchman has since made his debut for Barcelona, playing in the right flank in the wins against Real Valladolid and Sevilla, leaving great impressions both times. "I feel good, there are definitely things I have to improve. The position does not make me uncomfortable, but everyone knows my position is at centre-back and I prefer centre-back. But if the manager needs me there then I don't have a problem", explained Koundé.

However, now his position could be shifting to the centre of defence, as the addition of Héctor Bellerin is bound to provide Xavi more cover on that side of the pitch. "I would agree, because [Hector Bellerin] plays at right-back and he is a solution for the manager and then it is the manager who decides", added Koundé.

After missing out on some his new players, now this could be a challenging situation for Xavi. It will be difficult to keep all five of their central defenders at his disposal happy with their playing time. For now, however, everyone from club president Joan Laporta to Jules Koundé and Xavi must be happy the player registration dilemma is over.
