Some players seem to be like a force of nature, with no regard to pain, struggle or obstacles seem to stop them. However, Zlatan Ibrahimovic seems to go even one level beyond that. The Swede was brought to the ends of his resistance during last season, pushing his body beyond it's limits. Now he's ready for more.

"For the last 6 months I played without an anterior cruciate ligament in my left knee. My knee was swollen for 6 months. I was only able to train with the team 10 times in the last 6 months. I had more than 20 injections in 6 months", Ibra explained after last season. "I hardly slept for 6 months due to pain. I have never suffered so much on and off the pitch". However, it looks like not even that will stop him.

Today AC Milan made it official that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will carry on for another season, signing an extention to take his deal up to June 2023. The Swede, who will turn 41 in October, is the second oldest player in Serie A, only behind Sassuolo goalkeeper Gianluca Pegolo. However, his importance in the Milan dressroom is inquestionable, as can attest everyone who watched his speech after the Rossoneri picked up the title.

"I turned something impossible into something possible. In my mind I had only one goal: to make my teammates and the coach into Serie A champions because I made them a promise. Today I have a new ligament and a new trophy", said Ibrahimovic after the Rossoneri won the 2021-22 Scudetto, and it looks like he's ready to go at it once again to win another one.
