The Japanese forward was bought from Red Bull Salzburg in December 2019 for 8.5 million euros, to add depth to the Liverpool front line. He struggled to break into the first team, having the likes of Sadio Mané and Mohammed Salah in front, but quickly settled on a role as a adaptable rotation option.

However, the one thing all footballers want is minutes, and that's exactly what he'll be getting as he's moving to AS Monaco, where he'll have a more preeminent role in the squad, having fallen off with the additons of Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz to the Liverpool squad.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the transfer will be done for 15 million euros, with a further 3 million in addons. Minamino has already been announced by the AS Monaco social media accounts.

Takumi Minamino departs Liverpool having worn the famous red shirt a total of 55 times. Last season, he featured a total of 22 times for the Reds, scoring 10 goals and providing one assist in just over 1000 minutes played, having the most impact in Liverpool's cup winning campaign at the EFL Cup.
