While options to continue in the Premier League, like Arsenal and Chelsea (with whom Leeds had everything agreed) emerged, Raphinha had his heart set on one club and one club only, and that club is FC Barcelona.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Whites have agreed with Barça on a 72 million euros total package for the Brazilian, and every detail has been talked over. Now, all that remains is for the bid to be officially done (and officially accepted), which is why most sources are claiming the deal is "imminent".

For Raphinha, there was never much doubt. Despite Chelsea's best efforts, the Brazilian and his agent Deco never reached an agreement on personal terms, something that was never an obstacle for Barcelona, who have had the "yes" from the player for a long time, and instead had to work with Leeds United to reach a compromise.

Barcelona had a though decision to make, as the money that they're allegedly using to sign Raphinha could've gone towards unlocking the negotiations with Robert Lewandowski or Jules Koundé. However, if reports are to be belived, it was the Brazilian who they prioritised.
