Chelsea Football Club is on the cusp of closing down one of the signings of the season. While the names of Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo revolve around the Stamford Bridge club, the Blues are allegedly about to seal the deal for one of the biggest English names in football: Raheem Sterling.

The former Liverpool man had been in the sphere of the London club for a while, as his future at Manchester City became increasingly unclear. With the likes of Erling Haaland and Julian Álvarez joining, it was obvious Sterling would be facing less minutes, and that's not what he wanted.

Now, according to several sources, Sterling has agreed terms with Chelsea, as he's seen by Thomas Tuchel as a key addition in the Blues bid for the coming season. The clubs are also agreeing on the fee, with the transfer worth reportedly £45 million. No figures have come up regarding Sterling's potential wages, but it is understood that he will be among the best paid players at Chelsea.

Raheem Sterling joined Manchester City in 2015 from Liverpool for £57 million. Since then, the now 27-year-old forward has played 337 matches for the Sky Blues, scoring 131 goals and giving 94 assists. He's won the Premier League four times (2018, 2019, 2021, 2022) with the Citizens, while also an FA Cup in 2019 and five English League Cups in between 2016 and 2022.
