Chelsea are the team at the centre of the market right now. With the signing of Kalidou Koulibaly set to be confirmed very soon, they've now made official one of the biggest deals in the Premier League: Raheem Sterling.

Sterling arrived at Manchester City in 2015 from youth side Liverpool, and has since four Premier League titles with the Sky Blues, as well as the 2019 FA Cup and five EFL Cups. He's played 337 matches for Manchester City, scoring 131 goals and providing 94 assists.

The English forward has been looking for a bigger role, after many seasons among the top choices for Pep Guardiola in Manchester City, but being unable to become a guaranteed striker. With the arrival of the likes of Erling Haaland and Argentine wonderkid Julian Alvarez, his minutes were set to decline, so Sterling will be moving on to a new challenge.

In an emotional statement following his move, the Englishman thanked the Citizens for the rule they played in his career. "What a ride it's been. I am thankful for the ups and the downs. As it's the downs that have, at times tested my strength and resolve, and enabled me to stand here in front of you as the best possible version of myself", Sterling wrote. "I arrived in Manchester a 20-year-old. Today, I leave as a man. Thank you for your endless support. It's been an honour to wear the shirt of Manchester City".

His new challenge will be Thomas Tuchel and Chelsea FC, who he already joined in their US tour. The Blues are paying a bargain price, £47.5 million for the 27 year old. Raheem Sterling will be signing a deal until June 2027, with the option for an aditional season with the Blues. Reported figures put his future wages at £300,000 a week, which is to say over £15 million (18 million euros) per year.
