Oleksandr Zinchenko knows he's moving into a highly ambitious club in Arsenal, and under the management of man in Mikel Arteta, where he'll occupy a much more important role than he ever did at Manchester City. However, he couldn't help but get emotional after the move was officially done.

The 25-year-old revealed that it was hard to contain his tears as he bid his Manchester City teammates farewell. Zinchenko, who agreed to a move that will net the Sky Blues £32 million, gave an emotional farewell address to Pep Guardiola's team at their preseason camp in Texas.

"I was not ready - to be honest - for this day and especially when I gave a speech to the lads. It was so emotional because I was trying to practise this speech in my room, but I just kept saying to myself ‘Aleks, hold your tears, that's the main thing' - but it's impossible", commented Zinchenko, who also expressed his gratitude to everyone at the Citizens for their help and support during the launch of Russia's invasion of Ukraine earlier this year.

"When you see all these guys in front of you, with whom I have spent many years, a lot of memories, in good and bad ways, we were happy, not happy. There are a lot of moments we have shared with each other and that's life", expressed the Ukranian, who leaves the Etihad Stadium with four Premier League titles, an FA Cup victory, and six League Cup crowns with Manchester City. "I am so happy that one day, I can say to my grandson and granddaughters that I was a small part of this amazing club."

Now, Oleksandr Zinchenko joins Arsenal in a move that he described as a "boyhood dream come true", as he was a fan of the Gunners as a kid. " Since Thierry Henry and young Cesc Fabregas was playing here, I was just enjoying watching those games, that Arsenal. And obviously I started to love this club", commented the Ukranian during his presentation as a new player. Hopefully in time he can look back on his time with the Gunners with the same fondness he does now to his days with the Sky Blues.
