Manchester United had him as their main objective but there seems to nothing left to do. Erik ten Hag is putting together a team of technically gifted players and he wanted him. The club has just signed Casemiro and now all the cannons were pointing at Ajax forward Antony, but it will have to wait.

The Brazilian was already angry with Ajax because the board decided to reject Manchester United's first offer of 80 million euros. The player decided to stop training with the first team, he did not play the last matchday against Sparta Rotterdam and it looked like the only way out is for Ajax to accept the offer.

Manchester United withdrew their proposal after that, which angered Antony even more, but then the English club improved their bid and offered the astronomical figure of 94 million euros to take the Brazilian. However, Ajax did the one thing nobody expected them to do.

For the Dutch club, the offer made by Manchester United is insufficient and according to reports they have just rejected it. Antony is once again outraged at the situation since he finds Ajax's demands excessive.

From Antony's entourage they also believe that Manchester United will not present any more offers, so now their objective is to try to revive that proposal, keep it standing and see if Ajax ends up accepting it. From the footballer's side, the situation is irreversible because he feels that  Ajax may have miss out on the biggest opportunity in his career.
