In football, very few gambles work out. Not every player becomes the player clubs were expecting when buying, particularly if its a player yet to make the big step to elite football. Such seems to be the case of Luka Jovic, who's looking set to depart Real Madrid.

Jovic joined Los Blancos in 2019 as a 21 year, coming of a great season with Eintracht Frankfurt were he formed a deadly three man attack with Sebastien Haller and Ante Rebic. He scored 27 goals and made 7 assists in 48 matches for the German side that season, taking them to the semi finals of the UEFA Europa League, which was enough for Real Madrid to spend 63 million euros on him.

However, he never found his footing at the Santiago Bernabeu, and following a disappointing season on loan back a Eintracht, he looks set to leave Real Madrid once again despite still having 3 more years on his contract.

Now, according to Spanish online news outlet Relevo, Jovic will be joining Serie A side Fiorentina on a loan deal, with Real Madrid paying half his wages and the announcement coming soon. The deal is said to have a option to buy, which could mean the Serbian's permanent departure for Los Blancos
