Klopp WANTS HIM and Liverpool coud pay 50 MILLION for him
The German coach isn't quite done yet in the market, and his latest move could come soon
It sounds odd to say that a club that spent nearly 100 million euros in the transfer market has been relatively quiet, but Liverpool really have. The Reds were linked with very few players other than Darwin Nuñez and conducted their business quickly and without much noise. However, they could still have one last deal in them: Ismael Bennacer.
The side led by Jurgen Klopp need some help in the midfield, as it was shown last season with Thiago Alcantara reaching the Champions League final wrapped in cotton wool. That issue remains largely unresolved, and it could be the reason behind the latest rumours linking the Reds with the Rossoneri player.
According to sports network beIN Sports, Liverpool would have targeted AC Milan's Ismael Bennacer, with Reds manager Jurgen Klopp very interested in the player. However, Stefano Pioli is unwilling to give up one of his key players, particularly after losing Franck Kessie to FC Barcelona. Therefore, AC Milan does not consider Bennacer to be up for sale and will not enter negotiations for the midfielder, meaning Liverpool would have to pay his 50 million euros clause.
Should the move happen, it wouldn't be the first time the Algerian international plays in England, being an Arsenal Academy graduate. Liverpool are far from being the only team linked with Bennacer this season, with Manchester City and Arsenal being rumoured to be eyeing a move earlier this window.
Ismaël Bennacer has been part of AC Milan since 2019, when he moved from Empoli for 17 million euros. He's now for his polifacetic style of play, being able to build up play and play killer passes as well as being defensively solid, skills that would make him a top Premier League midfielder. Since joining the Rossoneri, he's played 105 matches for the club, scoring three goals and providing seven assists.
