MADNESS: United want this English youngster, but the fee is ASTRONOMICAL
The Red Devils are keen on one of the best English prospects, but his club is asking for a fortune
Manchester United want him, and Borussia Dortmund have named their price, but whether it is worth it or not will be up for a long debate. The Red Devils are used to paying piles of money for the players they want, as clubs in Europe know they can afford more than most, but this might just be too much. The player in question? English young prospect Jude Bellingham.
The former Birmingham City player has been attracting interest for a long while now, as his performances in the Bundesliga have merited the attention. Just last season, he finished with 6 goals and 14 assists in 41 matches for Borussia Dortmund. That has sparked the interest from many clubs, like Real Madrid and Liverpool.
However, according to German newspaper Sport Bild, Borussia Dortmund have put a prohibitive price tag on the 19 year old: 120 million euros. While it may seem mad, truth is the German club holds all the cards in this situation. Bellingham does not have a release clause in his contract, and the deal runs until 2025, meaning they're in no rush to sell.
It's not even the case that the player is pushing for a move, as the last time he was question on the matter, he was clear: "The only future I think of is the next game for Dortmund", said Bellingham, "I'm really looking forward to next season. I can't wait for it to finally start. But yes, I'll be here next season, and I'll be ready".
With reports coming that Real Madrid are eyeing the Englishman to add him to their midfield for the future with Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni, United may have to face the competition and pay Borussia Dortmund's mad demands if they want to secure Jude Bellingham's services.
