His ten goals in his first six games for Manchester City were not enough for Antonio Cassano to praise Erling Haaland. The Norwegian is the new star of the Premier League and the star of Manchester City, however, for the former Italian striker of Real Madrid and Juventus, Haaland is still missing a lot.

"Haaland is going to score 90 goals, he is very strong, he is like a Romelu Lukaku, but stronger. Anyway, I think Julián Álvarez is better because he has more quality", Antonio Cassano commented on the Boba TV show on streaming platform Twitch.

Also, along the same lines, Cassano said: "Haaland is not special. I see him a bit like Adriano at Inter and he has the progression of Vieri, he can finish like him". Adriano scored 77 goals in 180 games for Inter, Fiorentina and Parma, while Vieri scored 142 goals in 264 Serie A games for Torino, Atalanta, Juventus, Lazio, Inter, Milan and Fiorentina.

For his part, Pep Guardiola gave his opinion regarding the comparison between his new strikers in a press conference: "Julián is a player that we are all very surprised by his level in training and how he had done in the bit he has played, both in the preseason and the other day against Nottingham Forest. He is a very special player. Everyone talks about Haaland and I understand him perfectly, but City have signed a player with Julián for many years, of an extraordinary level".

"All the players come here to make us better, otherwise it doesn't make sense. Does that help us win titles? I don't know. If we put everything on Erling's shoulders, we won't win the Champions League. We try to create scoring chances for him." Guardiola analyzed in a press conference before his team's debut in the Champions League.
