Cristiano Ronaldo is ready to do anything to leave Manchester United. Long gone are the days of coming back for the love of the club and talking to Sir Alex Ferguson on the phone; the gloves are off and it's now clear the Portuguese is not kidding about forcing a move away.

At least, that's the word according to journalist Ben Jacobs, who's reporting that the former Real Madrid and Juventus man would be willing to take as much as a 30% pay cut to succesfully move somewhere else. For context, that would take more than 7 million euros from his 22 million a year wages

It may not be enough, however. There's only four players in Atlético Madrid's wage bill making anything close 15 million euros; neither Inter Milan nor Juventus have players making that much, while at somewhere like AC Milan, he'd be paid three times more than his closest teammate.

That is why, according to Jacobs, "Atletico reiterate that the club are simply not in a financial position to move. Atleti have termed signing Ronaldo 'problematic'". Therefore, Manchester United can continue to retain their "not for sale" policy without facing any opposition, while Erik ten Hag is still hoping for open communication.

He thinks this will help him keep his best shape, something crucial for the 37 year old in a World Cup year, with extra games in the middle of the season.
