Cristiano Ronaldo's departure from Manchester United will not be easy. The Portuguese wants to leave the club he joined a season ago and for one key reason: he wants to play in the Champions League. The English team had a terrible season and will only play in the Europa League, something Ronaldo can't stand for. In the first instance there was talk of Chelsea, then Juventus and even Napoli or Roma. However, who revealed Ronaldo's offer was Bayern Munich.

The German club received the call from Jorge Mendes but they decided to reject it and it was Oliver Kahn who explained why. "As much as I appreciate Cristiano Ronaldo as one of the greatest players, it is a transfer that would not fit our philosophy" the Bayern Director explained to Frank Linkesch of German newspaper Kicker.

According to information published by UK newspaper The Times, Ronaldo wants to leave United the right way: "Cristiano Ronaldo has asked to be allowed to leave Manchester United if the Premier League club receives a satisfactory offer in the transfer window. His decision is motivated for the desire to play in the Champions League for the rest of his career.

Ronaldo comes from a sucessful personal season, scoring 24 goals in 36 games with United, numbers that got him chosen as the best Red Devil player for the team's irregular season. Despite his, the Portuguese wants to find a club that allows him to compete to the fullest, with his goal set at Qatar 2022, which would be the last tournament he plays with the Portuguese National Team, according to the forward's own words.

These words by Kahn are echo those of Hasan Salihamidzic, Sporting Director of Bayern Munich, who warned: "Cristiano Ronaldo is a top player with an outstanding career. However, the rumour that circulates has nothing to do with us", as he explained to Sky Sports.
