Many were doubtful when Christian Eriksen declared a while his cardiac arrest at EURO 2020 that he intended to return to professional football. It seemed a risky move for a player who was already entering the latter stages of his career. The Red Devils have been chasing Eriksen for a while now, with new manager Erik Ten Hag showing that he had faith in the former Ajax player to guide the young players he wants to build his project around. Negotiations took a while as there were doubts regarding Eriksen's desire to play for a club that will feature in the coming Champions League, but in the end that proved unnecessary.

Now, according to David Ornstein from The Athletic, Eriksen will sign a three year deal, with the direct communication with Ten Hag reportedly a key factor in having the Dane decide for the Old Trafford side. Should everything work out correctly during his medical, which is set to be done this week, Eriksen will be announced as a Manchester United player together with Tyrell Malacia.
