The German striker hasn't been a good signing for the Blues, but he's reported to already have a taker

Timo Werner and Chelsea FC looked like a match made in heaven. The young German striker had everything to succeed in the Premier League, as a pacey, techinically gifted new-style striker. Any problems he faced with Frank Lampard on his first season was set to be fixed when Thomas Tuchel arrived in 2021, a move that won the Blues their second UEFA Champions League.

However, things haven't worked out and now he's a big unjustified expense for Chelsea, who pay him to 15 million euros per season to the former RB Leipzig man and don't really get what they're paying for. The higher ups at Stamford Bridge know that Tuchel won't take him into consideration, so they're looking to shift the Werner somewhere else.

That place could very well be Juventus. The Bianconeri are currently working on a deal to sign Álvaro Morata, but if they can't manage to agree on a fee lower than the 35 million euros option they had on their loan deal, they're looking at alternatives.

With plan B being the ever improving Anthony Martial, Juve may have to turn to plan C, Timo Werner. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, talks between both clubs started this week and could end up working in Juventus' favour as Chelsea could consider a loan deal to onload some of all of the German's wages. Negotiations are expected to continue and the future of Werner could be settled soon.

Timo Werner joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig in 2020 for 53 million euros. Since then, he's made 89 appearances for the Blues, with a somewhat paltry production of 23 goals and 21 assists with the Stamford Bridge side, something that is only made worse by the fact he collects the fourth highest wages at Chelsea, only behind N'Golo Kante and new signing Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly.
