It's a bit of news that nobody could've seen coming: Ngolo Kante is moving away from Chelsea. The dynamic midfielder earned heaps of praise as one of the most energetic and tactically smart ball-winners in the Premier League, but he'll have to continue his career away from Stamford Bridge.

Kante was a revelation after his title-winning season with Leicester City in 2015-16, and has continued to show his quality since moving to the Blues at the end of that season. However, his time with the West London side is coming to an end. Over the last three seasons, the Frenchman has often experienced physical niggles that took him off the teamsheet and reduced his playing time. The new Chelsea hierarchy see this as the beginning of the end and it has recently become public that they won't be offering Kante a new deal.

Other European clubs will undoubtedly want to seize this opportunity if Chelsea aren't. Kante was named as part of the  Champions League team of the season during the Blues winning campaign in 2021 and he continues to hold big value. However, if reports are to be believed, he might not be moving very far.

As reported by football website footmercato.net, Kante wishes to remain in London, and this leaves him only with the options of Arsenal and Tottenham as the two most prominent candidates to acquire his services, with the likes of West Ham United, Fulham, Crystal Palace and Brentford the other Premier League clubs in London.
