"I couldn't believe the tackle they did on Neymar, they could've taken him out of the World Cup": Tite was furious and rightly so. The Brazil National Team played a friendly with their Tunisian counterpart as preparation for Qatar 2022, but the match was anything but friendly and the intensity of the game was unbelievable.

Despite the final result, Tite and his players did not enjoy the friendly encounter between Brazil and Tunisia at the Parc des Princes in Paris. The coach was furious with the intensity that some of his rivals played with, particularly with regards to the tackles on Neymar, which could've got him injured and get him out of the World Cup, he assured. Even worse, Richarlison was hit with a banana that was tossed onto the pitch and the Brazilian internationals had to come out against yet another racist incident.

"We were in an environment where most of the fans were from Tunisia," Tite explained. "At times, I tried to find our fans, but they were scattered. It created the atmosphere of a competitive game. We knew the game on the pitch would be competitive, for real, but I didn't imagine the tackle they made to Neymar. It is a tackle to get players out of the World Cup".

"We are trying to play friendlies with teams that are in the World Cup because the level of demand is very high, physically, technically and mentally. Tunisia is on a seven games streak without defeates. The competitive spirit does not allow you to play a friendly that does not have an emotional shock, so we wanted to prepare ourselves and we went to take a risk, yes. But that's what we decided to do", Tite added.

For their part, the CBF, the Brazilian football federation, condemned the racist incident, while Richarlison opened about it on his social media channels: "As long as they stay "blah blah blah" and don't punish [those who are guilty], it will continue like this, happening every day and everywhere. No time bro!".
