 Footballers, like almost every kind of professionals, are getting younger everytime. Nowadays it's not rare for a player younger than 18 years old to make a big move to a top club, play heavy minutes or sign a top contract. The latest on an ever growing list of teenage star footballers seems to be Mathys Tel, but who is he exactly?

Tel is a 17 year old French forward from Stade Rennais. Having just barely broken out into the Rennes first team, many are already calling him the "new Mbappé", despite being still to score a Ligue 1 goal for his club. 

Now, Bayern Munich are keen on getting early on the action. Following news that the French team was prepared to accept Bayern's €30 million offer, the striker from Rennes is one step closer to finalizing his transfer to Bayern. After passing his medical exams in Munich on Monday, Tel is expected to sign with Bayern Munich, according to German journalist Kerry Hau.

Tel was seen coming at Bayern's training facilities on video before leaving a short while later. It is believed that the forward passed his physical and will join his new colleagues for practice tomorrow. Even though Tel only made 10 appearances for Rennes last season, the German champions were intrigued by his performances , as well as his five goals in six outings for the France U18 team. According to rumors, Bayern will offer Tel a deal running until 2027.

"One day he could become one of the best strikers in the world", expressed Bayern head coach Julian Nagelsmann about his soon-to-be new player. "I think he can reach 40 goals per season at some point in his career. But I would be happy if he makes 10 in this first season".
