The Champions League draw hasn't been kind to FC Barcelona. The Catalan giants are locked in group C with Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich and Serie A contender Inter Milan, as well as Viktoria Plzen from the Czech Republic. There will be a lot of pressure on Xavi and his team to make the best of the season. However, some at the Blaugrana board are trying to send a message of calm before the storm.

The technical secretary of Barcelona, Jordi Cruyff, has acknowledged that they have been given a big challenge in what's considered the "group of death" but has remained convinced that Barça is in a position to compete after the reinforcements that have arrived this summer.

"For the positive part, Lewy is with us now. For him it will be a special game. The last three or four games against them have been difficult but we have strengthened ourselves and we are a different team. We are ready to compete one on one against Bayern", explained Cruyff, remembering that it will be a special ocassion for Polish striker Robert Lewandowski as he'll face the Bundesliga champions for the first time since joining them from Borussia Dortmund in 2014.

However, the director and former Barcelona and Manchester United player wasn't oblivious to the rest of their competition. "The Italian teams are always difficult and Inter have reinforced themselves well, [Romelu] Lukaku has returned and they also have Lautaro [Martínez]", added the son of Barça legend Johan Cruyff while also commenting on Viktoria Plzen (on paper the weakest them of the group): "They are usually physical teams, with a very high game, that play very directly and you have to respect them and win the games against them".
