FC Barcelona's president Joan Laporta spoke with Catalunya Radio  sports shot Tot Costa and touched on several matters of the Blaugrana's actuality, particularly when it comes to transfers and contract renovations.

The Barça president talked about the issue of Dani Alves, whose contract is soon to expire. "We're now going to meet with Dani Alves so we can decide his future, he wants to play the World Cup", said Laporta. The Brazilian has been an important part of manager Xavi Hernández's rebuilding job in the club, and the president is eager to keep him wearing the kit that makes him feel like a superhero: "There's a chance we can extend his contract for the next 6 months, we will see".

Next on the agenda was the issue of Ousmane Dembele. When it finally seemed like the Frenchman was going to yield returns on his early promise at the Camp Nou, his renovation for Barça seems to have found some obstacles, mainly in the form of Bayern Munich. "We made our new deal proposal and we're waiting for his answer, next week", said Laporta, "He wanted to stay here at Barça but he's now tempted by other options he considers better".

The Blaugrana boss also referred to the situation with possible signing Robert Lewandowski: "It's not easy, remember our financial situation wasn't so easy. Let Jordi Cruyff and Mateu Alemany work...".

Last but not least, the Barça president  spoke about the issue of Frenkie de Jong, who many consider could be living his last weeks as a Barcelona player. "I don't know if we will sell important players [like De Jong]. If we complete some deals, maybe it won't be needed. The priority is our financial situation, as of now". The clubs financial position remains perilous and Laporta is under no illusions: "We'll do our best for the club".
