BREAKING: Barcelona working to sign one of Manchester City's best

The Catalan club is struggling financially but is still looking for ways to make deals and improve their team

 Every time there's news about FC Barcelona's transfer policy, the fact that the club is in very deep financial trouble and will struggle to register new players, let alone pay the fees required to sign a top footballer is mentioned. And yet, the Blaugranas remain of the world's largerst clubs, so these news keep appearing. This time, the player mentioned is one of Manchester City's most creative players.

All of this is coming because, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Portuguese super agent Jorge Mendes met with FC Barcelona representantives to talk about the possibility of one of his players joining Barça. The main name that was discussed would be no other than Bernardo Silva.

According to Romano, Barcelona manager Xavi Hernández is a big fan of Silva, and would be very keen on the Portuguese creative midfielder joining Barça. However, things will not be easy. It is said that Manchester City will be looking for a big fee to part company with the 27-year-old midfielder.

The Catalan club, as previously stated, is in no place to make those kinds of bids as thing stand. Therefore, a big part of the operation is dependant the deal Manchester United is working on, to pry Frenkie de Jong away from Barcelona.

Bernardo Silva joined Manchester City from French club AS Monaco in 2017, for a fee of 50 million euros. Since then, he has played in 251 matches for the Sky Blues, scoring 48 goals and setting up 51, for a combined stat of a goal involvement every 175 minutes.
