After starting slow in the early days, now Arsenal seem to be everywhere in the transfer market. The Gunners have been extremely active, closing down the likes of Fabio Vieira and Gabriel Jesus and chasing Raphinha, Lisandro Martinez and Oleksandr Zinchenko. Now, they emerge as potential destinations for another target: Juventus's Arthur.

Arsenal remain in the hunt for a new midfielder, with their move for Leicester City's Youri Tielemans inexplicably stalled after it seemed like a foregone conclusion that the Gunners would seal the deal at a discount price. Now, the name that has come up is that of Arthur Melo.

The Brazilian was impressive when he first joined Barcelona from South America giants Gremio, but his performances have since dropped and a swap deal move to Juventus (with Miralem Pjanic going the other way) didn't help him regain his form. Very much outside the top names for Juve coach Massimiliano Allegri, reality is Arthur is likely to miss the Bianconeri's pre-season tour in the USA, and the Gunners are smelling an opportunity.

The North London club have been targeting many Brazilian players lately, on account of sporting director Edu Gaspar's expertise, but the strategy seems to be paying off, with Gabriel Martinelli showing inmense promise, while Gabriel Magalhaes has been solid in defence. Their latest move was the addition of Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City, as a complete forward to carry Mikel Arteta's attack.

According the UK newspaper the Daily Mail, talks between Arsenal and Juventus have started, although nothing is too advanced. It's understood that the Italian giants would be open to a loan move, while the player could consider lower wages to seal a move elsewhere. Arthur played just 1,500 minutes across 31 appearances in all competitions for Juventus last season.
